There are several ways that you can help Playpower.org achieve its goals!
The first thing you should do is learn to program the $10 Computer. In case you were unaware, the $10 computer that is our target platform is actually based on the popular Nintendo Entertainment System (thats right, the NES!). So when we talk about learning to program the $10 Computer, we are actually implicitly talking about the NES.
Your first stop should be to work through the Nerdy Nights tutorial series. Although it says "Nights", you can work through it in an afternoon, or a single night. Once you have done that, but are hungry for more info, head over to our collection of 6502 programming documentation.
Now, you can decide what you would like to do. If you want to work on a game in progress, make your way to the ideas page and sign up for a current game project. If you have knowledge of other programming languages and would like to help with toolsets, you can sign up there also.
If, instead, you want to work on improving the documentation, or help with writing custom documentation for Playpower, take a trip to our documentation project page. The documentation project hopes to write brand new documentation that helps someone without a programming background get started! It's a big project, so whatever you can contribute will help.
If you would rather not program, you can work directly with graphics. To get started on graphics, head over to Requested Game Graphics page and help with our current game projects. There are several tutorials you can follow to get a handle on the graphics side of things.
Finally, you can always check to see how you can help by viewing this wiki page.
Good Luck!
