6502 for a newbie: Where do I begin?

I have no programming knowledge whatsoever, but I have recently fallen victim to a strange curiosity of this 6502 assembly language. I have always dreamed of creating my own games with my own objectives and obstacles along the way. I plan to go to college in the fall to major in computer science to learn more about computer languages but I'd really like to get a head start while I can. Briefly describe your background:: I've recently graduated from Lamesa High School, and I've always been interested in software development and music. Also, I used to dream of becoming an English teacher because I occasionally write short stories.

How would you like to help Playpower?: I have always wanted to learn how to develop my own games. While searching for information on how to program in 6502 for the NES, I stumbled upon this site and I thought that if I could help support a worthy cause while learning, it could be a beneficial experience for not only myself, but for those in need of an education.
I've been making my own music using FL Studio for years now so I believe I could probably help out with music. I just graduated high school so I don't have any college experience yet, but I'd still like to help out somehow.
