Permalink Reply by Hugh Robinson on May 20, 2010 at 7:52pm I'm also interested in working on a game. I don't have any NES experience, but I am quite warm to the 6502.
Here is a great resource for programming info:

How will these games be used though? Will they be published and sold along with the Playpower computer?

Permalink Reply by Hugh Robinson on April 13, 2011 at 10:03pm Hey Eduardo that sounds good, sorry for the delay with this reply but I don't get to check my email too often. I'll talk with James to see if a dentistry game is something we want to start. I like the idea myself but unless it will be implemented into the game packs we should hold off on starting a development team and such.
Thanks for your interest in helping out, please don't be discouraged by the delays in my replies, I will get information to you as soon as I get it but it still may go a little slow. Take care!
Permalink Reply by Eduardo Gonzalez Avila on May 9, 2011 at 9:09am Eduardo, your idea sounds excellent. Dental hygiene is extremely important, especially in the target market of the $10 computer. I recommend putting your idea together into what is called a "Functional Spec". A functional spec is a good way of getting all the work required for the game broken down into individual "deliverables". Please check out an existing spec for the Malaria game here.
If you add this idea to the ideas page we can create a home for this project on the wiki. There, you guys can put up what art, code, music, etc you need from the greater community, and have a common place for all your work, and a place where you can put your concept art, sketches and design work.
Hugh, if you are still looking for some resources to get you started on programming for the 6502, the link posted by Rick is the best way to start. There is also a whole bunch of videos posted on the Playpower vimeo account, which are a great way to get a bit of exposure not only to ASM, but to sprite creation, and even EPROM burning (you can make a proto-board to test your code on a real NES/Famiclone).
I look forward to seeing your project progress.
